Nottingham’s tram network is backing a campaign to help bring a smile to the faces of children who would otherwise experience a bleak Christmas without any presents.

The NET Travel Centre in King Street has become a designated drop-off point for the Mission Christmas Cash for Kids Campaign.

Run by radio station Gem, the campaign is urging people to donate presents that’ll be passed on to youngsters, aged between 0 and 18, growing up in poverty.

Constantina Samara, NET Customer Service Manager, commented: “We’re delighted to support this wonderful initiative as every gift donated, and every penny raised, stays local to benefit children living in our area.

It’s heart-breaking to know that many babies, toddlers, children and teenagers will wake up this Christmas without any presents to open.

By supporting this campaign, NET and its customers will be able to help spread some festive cheer amongst the most vulnerable in our community.

The drop off point at the Travel Centre is now accepting new and unwrapped gifts suitable for children, including soft toys and games, as well as cash donations.
