Normal service has resumed on Nottingham's tram network ahead of the busy Easter weekend, following the successful completion of planned track maintenance work from Nottingham Express Transit (NET).
Starting on 12 April, the essential tram track improvements took place between Middle Hill and Weekday Cross and have been successfully completed on schedule without any delays. The Lace Market tram stop has now reopened on 17 April, after being closed to allow the work to take place.
Trevor Stocker, Head of Operations at NET, said: “We’d like to thank the public for their co-operation during this maintenance work, which we’re pleased to share has been completed on time and was delivered to an excellent standard by our team.
“By facilitating contingency travel plans through partnerships with NCT buses, as well as stationing plenty of staff at nearby tram stops, we’ve had low levels of customer queries during the five-days that the Lace Market tram stop was closed to enable this work.
“We’re pleased to resume our normal service from today, and hope that the people of Nottingham have a brilliant Easter weekend, whether heading into the city centre to stock up on treats, or visiting friends and family across the wider network.”
