An eye-catching 77-foot tramside advert and posters at 15 tram stops are drumming up vital donations for a Nottingham homeless charity.
The tram and posters highlight a winter fundraising appeal by Emmanuel House Support Centre that aims to help meet a £70,000 shortfall in the charity’s annual income.
With the catchline ‘You Can Make the Difference’, the campaign also has the support of Nottingham City Transport buses and NET’s print supplier Adverta.
Together they’ve donated advertising space valued at £25,000 that will provide unmissable support for homeless people across the city.
Chris Williams, who oversees social responsibility for the tram operator, said: “During these difficult times due to Covid-19, it’s more important than ever to support the most vulnerable in the community, and we’re committed to doing all we can to help.
“The tram network serves many key locations around the city, and we’re sure the colourful posters and eye-catching tram will provide a real boost for the charity’s winter appeal.”
The on-tram advertising consists of a ‘superside’ ad running the whole length of the tram just above the windows and doors. All the campaign artwork was created by local graphic designer Elroy the Artist.
Denis Tully, CEO at Emmanuel House Support Centre, said the charity had been overwhelmed by the generosity from NET and NCT.
Thanking them for their support he said: “The advertising will help us to raise awareness about the work we do to support those who are homeless, rough sleeping, in crisis or at risk of homelessness. We can’t wait to see the artwork all around the city and hope that the positive message will resonate with the people of Nottingham.
“Our winter appeal is our most important fundraising event – we need it to sustain the running of the charity all year round.
“As a result of the pandemic, Emmanuel House could be at risk of a £70,000 shortfall in our core income this year. Our sources of income and community fundraising have been drastically reduced, so donations like these are so gratefully received as they will help us to reach even more supporters.”
The charity is asking members of the public to take photos of the Emmanuel House tram and buses and post them on social media by tagging Emmanuel House on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and using #youcanmakethedifference.
Details on how to donate to Emmanuel House’s winter appeal are included in the artwork. People can also donate online through the VirginMoney page or text 70450 to donate £5 (texts cost £5 plus one standard rate message).
