From Monday 27th September, contactless payment will be available on all of our lime green validators across the network meaning that anyone wishing to purchase an adult single or day ticket can do so by tapping their debit/credit card or mobile device with apple or Google pay at the start of their journey.
An upgrade in technology now means that our staff out on the network have the ability to scan debit/credit cards to check that a ticket purchase has been made, should we request to see your ticket.
Customers wishing to use contactless when travelling by tram should tap on their payment cards or mobile devices against the lime green validators at the end of the platform before boarding the tram.
You’ll hear a beep and a green tick will show on the screen to indicate a payment for a single journey has been made. You don’t need to tap off once you have completed your journey, simply tap on before boarding each time you use the tram and you will only be charged a maximum of our adult daily fares.
This is NETs first step as part of the Nottingham Contactless scheme and it is hoped by the end of the year that customers will be able to use their debit/credit cards to make multiple journeys across Trams and buses in the city.

What is Nottingham Contactless?
This is a partnership between Nottingham City Council, NET trams, Nottingham City Transport and CT4N (who run the Linkbus/ Medilink network) to make paying for bus and tram trips even easier by using contactless.
How does it work?
Simply tap your credit/debit card or mobile device with apple or Google pay at the lime green validator at the end of the platform and wait for the beep and green tick. Travel as much as you like for the adult day price.
