NET has joined forces with CAMRA to launch a special travel guide highlighting the very best real ale pubs across the city’s tram network.
The Beer by Tram guide features 47 pubs chosen by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), providing information on which stop to get off at along with opening times, a list of ales served and a short description for each pub.
Ordered by stop, the pocket-sized guide will give real ale enthusiasts the opportunity find the nearest pub to them when travelling on the tram, wherever they may be on the network.
Stephanie Moss-Pearce, Assistant Marketing Manager at NET, explained: “Nottingham and its surrounding suburbs are home to a large number of real ale pubs, many of which are easily accessible via the tram.
“Following the launch of our new lines in August last year, there are now even more pubs within easy reach of the tram, giving real ale lovers an even bigger choice when they use our network.”
Ray Kirby, a member of Nottingham CAMRA, added: “It is a sad fact that the country is losing pubs at the rate of 29 per week, and Nottingham has witnessed its share of these closures.
“Undoubtedly, the best way of keeping our pubs in business is to use them more frequently and with the aid of this guide we hope to show some of the best examples that can be reached easily on the tram.”
The Beer by Tram guide is now available to pick up for free on the tram and from NET’s travel centre on King Street. It is also available to download here.
