Nottingham’s tram network is gearing up to help tens of thousands of visitors make the most of one of the city’s most popular events.
Dating back more than 700 years, the annual Goose Fair will feature an array of roller coasters and water rides alongside other traditional funfair attractions when it returns to the Forest Recreation Ground next week.
To help people get to and from the heart of the action, NET will be running an adjusted timetable and a popular travel offer for families and groups of friends travelling together.
Rebekah Smith, NET’s Marketing Manager, explained: “Travelling by tram to the event couldn’t be easier as our Forest stop is right next to the entrance.
“While our free park and ride facilities to the north of the city are expected to be busy during the fair, there’ll be plenty of spaces at our other sites, particularly at Toton Lane and Clifton South.”
To make way for all the fun, NET’s Forest park and ride will be closed for the duration of the event, which gets underway on Wednesday, October 2, and a few days either side to allow for the setting up and taking down of all the attractions.
“Unfortunately, the closure is unavoidable due to Goose Fair’s size and popularity, but we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause,” Rebekah said.
“Although we will be running extra trams, we would ask customers to allow a little extra time for their journey and urge anyone travelling with family and friends to take advantage of our great value £5 Group Ticket offer.
“Enabling two adults and up to three children to travel to the event for just a fiver, it’s just the ticket for a fun-filled trip to the fair!”
Goose Fair draws to a close at 9pm on Sunday, October 6 and The Forest Park and Ride will be closed from 4pm on Saturday, September 28 until 6am on Wednesday, October 9. Further details about the revised timetable are available here.
