Nottingham's spectacular free annual bonfire and fireworks display returns to the Forest Recreation Ground next week and getting there by tram couldn’t be easier.
NET will operate to a special timetable and offer discounted tickets for the largest bonfire celebrations in the East Midlands, which will also feature two massive fireworks displays at 7.15pm and 9pm on Tuesday, November 5.
As the attraction is hugely popular with locals and visitors alike there’ll be no parking on site, so people heading for the event are being encouraged to travel by tram.
Night access to the park and ride facilities at The Forest will be restricted to blue badge holders only, but NET is laying on frequent services throughout the evening to help make sure nobody misses out on the fun.
From 3pm, trams will run every eight and a half minutes until 8pm and then at 10 minute intervals until 11pm.
From then trams will run every 15 minutes.
As well as running extra evening services, NET is also reminding families travelling to the event that they can take advantage of the popular £5 Group Travel ticket.
The great value deal provides unlimited travel for one or two adults and up to three children using the tram network after 4pm. Customers looking to purchase the ticket can do so at tram stop ticket machines or via NET’s new free app NETGO!
Rebekah Smith, NET Marketing Manager, said: “There is no more direct way to get to Nottingham’s incredible bonfire and fireworks extravaganza than by tram.
“With a stop at the Forest site as well as extra services, NET customers needn’t worry about getting stuck in traffic or finding a place to park as they can take advantage of thousands of spaces at our other park and ride sites across the city.”
The Forest park and ride will reopen on Wednesday, November 6.
