Changes to ticket prices on NET’s
popular NETGO! app are to be introduced in the New Year to bring them in line
with ticket machine prices.
Single, Day, Week and Group fares
bought through the app will go up by between 10p and 50p from Sunday 3rd
January, depending on the ticket.
The current lower prices
available through NETGO! were offered as an introductory promotion when the app
launched in October 2019. NET decided to extend the promotional period when the
pandemic struck earlier this year.
The changes mean a single adult
ticket goes up from £2.30 to £2.40, adult day tickets increase from £4 to
£4.20, an adult weekly ticket will be £18.50 up from £18 and a group ticket for
up to 2 adults and 3 children (after 4pm, at weekends and during school holidays)
increases by 50p to £6. Ordinary group tickets stay at £10. The new prices are
what NET customers are already paying at ticket machines.
Andrew Conroy, Chief Operating
Officer at NET, said: “NETGO! users have enjoyed promotional prices for longer than
was originally planned after Covid hit, and while no fare increase is popular,
this simply ends the promotion and brings all our fares in line with each
other.
“The app has proven extremely
popular and still offers value for money and the safest and easiest way to
purchase tickets. In addition, NETGO! users will benefit from season ticket
options by the end of January following further development of the app.”
