Nottingham’s tram network has marked the first ever National Clean Air Day alongside other green transport operators in the city.
The Wilkinson Street tram depot welcomed a double-decker bio-gas bus from Nottingham City Transport and a bus from Nottingham Community Transport’s electric fleet of vehicles to help celebrate the day on Thursday 15 June 2017.
The day aims to inspire people to do their bit to improve air quality and their own health and part of the initiative has encouraged people to leave their cars at home and find healthier, low emission ways of travelling.
Darren Smith, NET’s Deputy Operations Manager, explained: “We’re proud to form part of Nottingham’s environmentally conscious transport network and it was great to welcome our fellow operators to our depot.
“We hope the day helps people think about what they can do to have a positive impact on the environment and the benefits that using greener methods of transport can have.”
