Tram Gears Up For Festive Season

Nottingham’s tram network is gearing up to help customers make the most of Christmas.

Across the city, seasonal celebrations are already in full swing and NET will be running a full timetable through the holiday period, with late night trams set for a return on New Year’s Eve.

With the exception of Christmas Day, services will operate all day, every day until after midnight and those wanting to see in the New Year can count on the tram to get them home up until around 2.00am.

A full Sunday Service will also be in operation on Christmas Eve, ideal for anyone who needs to pop into the city for some last minute shopping, and again on Boxing Day for those wanting to bag a bargain in the winter sales.

Normal weekday services will resume on Wednesday, December 27 with trams every seven minutes.

Meanwhile, in addition to the late night trams, New Year’s Eve will see a Sunday timetable, with services every 10 minutes through the day, as will New Year’s Day.

Stephanie Moss-Pearce, NET Marketing Manager commented: “Whether you need to do some last minute shopping, heading for the sales, planning a night out or just visiting family or friends, the tram offers the ideal way to avoid the traffic at the busiest time of the year.

“As in previous years, we’re planning to run as many trams as possible to help customers make the most of all the city has to offer, including the ever popular Winter Wonderland in Old Market Square.

“Once again the top attraction is supported by NET and it’s just one of many reasons that make Nottingham such a great place to visit at Christmas.”

The tram also offers great value, with the £5 Group Ticket available all day throughout the school holidays. Available to buy from all tram stop ticket machines, the ticket offers unlimited tram travel for one or two adults and up to three children.

Stephanie added: “By taking advantage of our ticket offers and free park and ride facilities across the network, tram customers can avoid congestion on the roads and the hassle of finding a parking space. They’ll also have a little extra money to spend on themselves or presents for loved ones!”
