Take the tram instead! That’s the message to motorists looking to save money in January to make up for their festive spending.
This month the city’s tram network is planning to put a few extra pounds in the pockets of new and occasional customers by cutting the cost of stepping up to a season ticket.
First-time buyers, and anyone who’s not had a NET season ticket for the past three months, can enjoy £15 off the usual price of £55 if they buy between Monday, January 22 and Saturday, February 25.
Stephanie Moss-Pearce, NET Marketing Manager, commented:
“We all know how personal finances can get tight in January, and, for many people, looking at the way they get around the city can be a great way to save money.
“With this offer, we hope to tempt even more people into leaving their car at home, or at one of our free park and ride facilities, rather than driving into the city centre.
“As well as saving on fuel, which is set to continue to rise, by taking the tram they’ll also avoid city centre parking charges and the hassle of getting stuck in traffic.”
The £40 Season Ticket offer is only available from the NET Travel Centre in King Street, and customers must quote ‘Tram40promotion’ when purchasing.
