Extra Tram Services For Bonfire Night
26 October 2017
Nottingham’s tram network will be running additional services to help local residents and visitors to Nottingham get to the city’s annual Bonfire Night celebrations.
The free event on Sunday 5 November is set to once again attract thousands of people to The Forest Recreation Ground and with no parking available on site, visitors are being urged to take the tram.
Additional services will be added to NET’s usual Sunday timetable, with trams running from every 10 minutes between 7am and 10pm, and from every 15 minutes all other times during service.
NET’s Marketing Manager, Stephanie Moss-Pearce explained: “Just like Goose Fair, we take people right to the event’s doorstep with direct trams across the city.
“Tram customers can even take advantage of our great value £5 Group Ticket, which will be available all day and offers unlimited travel on our network for two adults, or two adults and up to three children.”
Taking place from 5.30pm, the celebrations will include a funfair and children’s fireworks before the lighting of the bonfire at 7.45pm and the main display at 9.00pm.
The event will see restricted access to NET’s park & ride site at The Forest from 4pm on 5 November, where there will be no access except for blue badge holders, although cars already parked at the site can leave at any time.
Stephanie added: “Whilst The Forest park & ride site will be shut to accommodate the popular event, customers can still make use of over 4,000 free spaces at our six other sites.”
The Forest park & ride site will reopen again as usual on Monday 6 November.
